Founded in 1989, Ballet Folklorico Mixteco has been active not only within the community of East Los Angeles area, but also in surrounding communities. The group has won First and Second Place in the Ballet Folklórico de Amalia Hernandez Competition in 1999 and 2000. At the USA Competition, the group took First Place in the Elementary School, Middle School, High School and Professional Categories.
In 1990, we were honored by the Los Angeles County First District Supervisor, Gloria Molina, and by Richard Alatorre, California State Assemblyman for the Los Angeles County.
